It is important to support insects. Even the smallest actions help to stop insect mortality and contribute to preserving the 30,000 insect species living in Germany.
At DEFLEX you get durable insect protection for windows, doors, light wells and conservatories - so every buyer of our products is also an insect protector. And for everyday life, we offer even more products to help the little creatures.
Wild bee house "BeeHome Diversity" large
Handmade wild bee house and nesting aid "BeeHome" made of ecological materials for garden, balcony or company premises.
With a BeeHome you can easily propagate peaceful wild bees and experience how the busy mason bees hatch, diligently pollinate the plants in the surrounding area and nest in the BeeHome.
With every BeeHome you buy, you will receive a starter population of the horned mason bee. Through the various nesting aids in the house, other wild bees will also quickly settle, but they will not compete with each other.
The wild bee house is shipped by our partner Pollinature, to whom we pass on your delivery address for the one-off shipment of your ordered products.
Material: Outdoor boxes are made of PEFC-certified wood from sustainable forestry. Giant reed (Arundo donax) is used as nesting material. The weatherproof roof is made of bio-based plastic (Arbofill) and consists of 80 percent renewable raw materials.
Manufacturing: Short distances, quality and social responsibility are a matter of course for us. The wild bee houses are manufactured exclusively in Germany by wood specialists and in social workshops.
Processing: Each BeeHome is the result of careful handwork. The nesting tubes are individually sawn to the ideal bee nursery according to clear specifications, fitted into the wooden box and carefully sanded until all nest entrances are beautifully smooth. The wild bees should not injure their wings on frayed tubes. Only after a strict quality control may a BeeHome leave the wood workshop well packed and plastic-free to provide a new home for the important pollinators.
Bees: We don't just want to sell a bee hotel. Our goal is to get as many people as possible excited about wild bees and other insects. This often works best with a simple offer that requires no prior knowledge, but is a lot of fun right from the start. That's why every BeeHome comes with a starter population of 25 mason bee cocoons that hatch in the BeeHome and settle permanently right away in the first spring. The mason bees for the BeeHomes are propagated with the support of fruit growers and the offspring overwinter in the cocoons well monitored by biologists.
