General Information
The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. For detailed information on the subject of data protection, please refer to our data protection declaration listed below this text.
1. collection of data when calling up the website
The collection, storage, processing and use of your personal data is carried out exclusively in accordance with the following data protection declaration. Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find his contact details in the imprint of this website. DEFLEX®-Dichtsysteme GmbH, hereinafter referred to as DEFLEX®, takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations as well as this data protection declaration, in particular the regulations of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
As a rule, it is possible to use our website without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

1.2 Passing on personal data
If DEFLEX® passes on personal data, we do so exclusively to service companies that support us in fulfilling the aforementioned purposes. These companies may only use your personal data as so-called commissioned data processors to fulfil their tasks on our behalf and are obliged to comply with the relevant data protection regulations. (See also their data protection declaration).

1.3 Processing of data (customer and contract data)
DEFLEX® collects, processes and uses personal data only to the extent that it is necessary for the establishment, the content or the amendment of the legal relationship (inventory data). DEFLEX® collects, processes and uses personal data about the use of our website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service, to send goods or to invoice the user.

1.4 How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected by you providing it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form. Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.

1.5 What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request the correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint for this purpose and for further questions on the subject of data protection. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

1.6 Analysis tools and third-party tools
When visiting our website, your surfing behaviour may be statistically analysed. This is done primarily with cookies and so-called analysis programs. The analysis of your surfing behaviour is usually anonymous; the surfing behaviour cannot be traced back to you. You can object to this analysis or prevent it by not using certain tools. You will find detailed information on this in the following data protection declaration.

You can object to this analysis. We will inform you about the objection options in this data protection declaration.

1.7 Linked addresses
Insofar as a link to a website or web content (e.g. a link to Facebook) takes you outside the scope of responsibility of the DEFLEX® website, the company is not responsible for the content of the linked pages. Corresponding responsibilities can usually be found in the respective imprint of a website.
In the case of forwarding to or linking from third party providers, the technical realisation of the web offer lies outside the area of responsibility of DEFLEX®. It is expressly pointed out that such third-party providers may use so-called trackers, beacons or cookies with which the surfing behaviour of site visitors is examined. In this regard, reference is made to the privacy policy of the respective third-party provider.
Furthermore, explicit reference is made here to the so-called Facebook ruling of the Schleswig-Holstein Administrative Court with the file numbers 8 A 37/12, 8 A 14/12, 8 A 218/11. DEFLEX® has no influence on how the linked or integrated pages are set up and what data is collected there. Furthermore, DEFLEX® has no access to data collected by third parties using cookies, trackers, beacons or other methods.

2 General information and mandatory data protection information
2.1 Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection declaration. As a rule, it is possible to use our website without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. Personal data is data with which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done. We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

2.2 Your right to information, correction and deletion of personal data
According to the regulations of the BDSG and DSGVO, you have the right to request information free of charge about what data is stored about you and for what purpose it is stored. In addition, you can demand the correction, blocking or deletion of your data, if necessary. To assert the above rights, please contact us directly (see contact information below).

2.3 Revocation of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. For this purpose, an informal communication by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

2.4 Right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority
In the event of violations of data protection law, the data subject has a right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority in matters of data protection law is the State Data Protection Commissioner of the federal state in which our company is based. A list of data protection officers and their contact details can be found at the following link: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

2.5 Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another person responsible, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

3 Data collection on our website
3.1 General information
When visiting our website, data on the respective access is collected and stored without reference to persons (so-called log files). The web server does not store complete IP addresses. Some of these anonymised access data are used for the purpose of troubleshooting and optimising the website as well as for counting visitors. Personal data is not processed in the process.
 3.2 Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
browser type and browser version
Operating system used
referrer URL Host name of the accessing computer
Time of the server request
IP address / anonymised
This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

3.3 SSL or TLS encryption
This site uses TLS encryption for reasons of security and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
 3.4 E-mail
If you send us enquiries by e-mail, the information you provide in the enquiry form, including the contact details you enter there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. We expressly point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

The processing of the data entered in the e-mail is therefore based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal communication by e-mail to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you enter in an e-mail will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after we have completed processing your enquiry). Mandatory legal provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

3.5 Objection to advertising mails
The use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information material is hereby prohibited. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam e-mails.

3.6 Cookies
The internet pages of DEFLEX® partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
You can find more information on the terms of use and data protection at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.
4 Anonymous collection and evaluation of access data, web analysis
4.1 General When visiting our website, data on the respective access is collected and stored without reference to persons (so-called log files). As a matter of principle, the web server does not store complete IP addresses. Some of these anonymised access data are used for the purpose of troubleshooting and optimising the website as well as for counting visitors. Personal data is not processed in the process.

4.2 Use of web analysis tools
The DEFLEX® website uses the web analysis tools "Webalizer" and "Matomo". The analysis of user behaviour is important because it allows the demand for content to be analysed and thus the online offer to be optimised.
 4.2.1 Use of Webalizer
The DEFLEX® website uses the automatic statistics tool Webalizer, which lists and stores data from web accesses. This usage data is stored in the Webalizer statistics tool at our provider's and is evaluated internally for statistical purposes only and anonymously. Statistics about the frequency of accesses help us to adapt our internet offer to your needs. Webalizer lists an anonymised IP address of your system as well as the date and time of page access. This data cannot be assigned to specific persons by the provider of this website. This data is not merged with other data sources.
4.2.2 Use of Matomo / Piwik
The DEFLEX® website uses Matomo (formerly Piwik), an open source software for statistical analysis of visitor access. Statistics on the frequency of access help us to adapt our website to your needs. Matomo uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The "session cookies" used are text files that are only temporarily stored on your computer. As soon as the web browser is closed, they are deleted again. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is stored by our provider. The data collected is not passed on to third parties and is used to identify and improve relevant content on our website.
The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage. Matomo is configured according to the recommendations of the Independent Centre for Data Protection (ULD) and follows the applicable data protection regulations.

4.2.3 Right of objection pursuant to Section 15 (3) TMG
Pursuant to Section 15 (3) of the German Telemedia Act (TMG), you have the right to object to the processing of data by means of web analysis tools as described above (i.e. to the creation of pseudonymous user profiles). You can prevent the analysis of user behaviour if you block the setting of cookies by this website in your browser, e.g. by setting up an exception in the browser.
 5. contact form/inquiry form If you send DEFLEX® enquiries via the contact form/enquiry form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up enquiries. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

Your contact data or enquiries will only be sent to us if you have previously confirmed the data protection declaration by clicking on the checkbox: "I have read the data protection declaration and agree that my data will be permanently stored for contact purposes as well as for enquiries".
The data you enter in the contact form/enquiry form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after we have completed processing your enquiry). Mandatory legal provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

6. notes on Facebook (social media network)
The DEFLEX® website uses links to the external social network Facebook. This internet service is operated exclusively by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). The links are identified on our website by the Facebook logo or the addition "Like" (no Facebook plugin is used). If you follow these links by clicking on them, the Facebook plugins are activated and your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers.
If you follow the links while visiting our website and are logged in to Facebook via your personal user account, the information that you have visited our website will be forwarded to Facebook. Facebook can assign your visit to the website to your account. This information is transmitted to Facebook and stored there. To prevent this, you must log out of your Facebook account before clicking on the link. The functions assigned to the links by Facebook, in particular the transmission of information and user data, are not activated by visiting our website, but only by clicking on the corresponding links.
For the purpose and scope of data collection by Facebook and the further processing and use of your data there, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook's privacy policy (https://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php).

7 Participation in the "Insect Conservationist of the Year" competition
When you register for the "Insect Conservationist of the Year" competition, your details from the registration form, your "story" and the pictures you upload will be stored. This data will be used exclusively for the implementation of the competition and the publication of the result. The legal basis for the processing of the data in the course of the implementation of the competition is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b) DS-GVO and for the processing in the course of the publication of the result Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f) DS-GVO.
The competition entries of individual participants and the winner of the competition will be published on our website and our social media pages.
The data will remain with us until you request us to delete it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after completion of the competition). Mandatory legal provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

8. amendment of this data protection declaration
The constant development of the Internet and the changes in the applicable legal standards frequently associated with this make it necessary to adapt our data protection declaration from time to time. DEFLEX® reserves the right to change this data protection declaration at any time in compliance with the provisions of data protection law.
